Welsh Cakes are a tea cake that comes from a time before baking when people cooked over the open fire. Our cakes are made by hand on griddles as they have been made in Wales for centuries. Our unique family recipe makes our cakes lighter. Usually eaten with tea, coffee or milk they may be warmed and served with clotted cream and jam or eaten right out of the package. Each cake is 2.5" in diameter and 1/2" tall and weighs about 1 ounce.

They can seem somewhat dry to some people who are used to American cakes. This is why we recommend you warm them and put spreads on them as described on the package.
